Principal Investigator - Gloria Gozdzik, Ph. D., RPA, is the principal investigator on all projects. She has over twenty-five years experience as an archeologist, including 18 years as a principal investigator. She has managed Phase I, II, and III field survey and excavation for various cultural resource management projects in Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia. She is a member of the Society for American Archeology, past President and member of the Council for West Virginia Archeology, and a member of the West Virginia Archeological Society.
Archeological Staff - Our archeological staff consists of fully trained, experienced professionals with BA or MA degrees. The archeological staff can conduct Phase I archeological survey, and Phase II and III archeological investigation for any size project area. Each professional on our archeological team is trained in the use of TOPCON total station and generate cultural resource reports for assigned projects. All have a thorough understanding of the Section 106 process.
Historical Staff - The historians work in close conjunction with the archeological staff providing analysis for historic and pre-historic contexts. Services include primary and secondary literature searches, State Historic Preservation Office materials searches, deed searches, will searches, local tax record searches, and court record searches.
Geophysical Services - Our partnership with D'Appolonia allows us to provide cutting-edge technology to identify cultural resources. Using state of the art geophysical techniques and equipment we can identify features and buried components of archeological sites, thus eliminating questions about size, number, and distribution of buried features. We are equipped to conduct ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveys, DC resistivity and magnetic gradiometry surveys.
Field Technicians - HRC has a labor pool of 25 trained field technicians that can be mobilized quickly on an as-needed basis. All field technicians are capable of working on Phase I, II, and III projects, both historic and prehistoric.
Support Staff - Our support staff includes cultural resource management technicians who have been trained in the use of the latest computer-based techniques for map generation and laboratory analysis, secretarial staff, and accounts payable/receivable staff.
Our staff is experienced and capable and has specialized in cultural resource management in the Southeast United States including West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky.
